Prusa Research by Josef Prusa actively supports OctoPrint. We downloaded and installed etcher etcher.io to burn the OctoPi image to the SD card. We purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (33,99 EURO) with a Power Supply (8.99 EURO), a SanDisk Extreme 32GB Micro-SDHC card (22.99 EURO), and a Logitech C920 HD Webcam (39,00 EURO) with a Cullmann Alpha 15 Mini Tripod with Ball Head (6,99 EURO) for a total of 112 EURO from Amazon and it took us under 30 minutes to set it up. We downloaded OctoPi, a Raspbian based SD card image for the Raspberry Pi that already includes OctoPrint and everything required to run it, which is maintained by Guy Sheffer. Gina Häußge created and maintains OctoPrint, a snappy web interface for 3D printers. Make sure to select 1080p HD as your video resolution in your YouTube window – Settings – Quality. Here is a video of the complete setup and and the printing of the Raspberry Pi case showing OctoPi in action. ![]() We set up OctoPi on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with a HD Webcam for our Original Prusa i3 MK3. ![]()
